Originally from the UK, I have been working as a General Practitioner in Australia for nearly twenty years. During that time, I have had the honour of sitting with thousands of people, sharing their stories and seeking to help and support them.
I lived and worked as a volunteer in India for 6 months. I worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, serving in communities throughout rural and remote Queensland, from Birdsville to the islands of the Torres Strait. More recently I’ve been working in palliative care, having the great privilege of supporting people with life limiting illness and their families.
Along the way I’ve taken time out to travel, to become a yoga teacher and to take care of my son. In all of those experiences it is the authentic connection with another that has been such a privilege and such a joy, which is why the transition to Gestalt therapy has been so natural and exciting for me. You can read more about Gestalt therapy on the ‘About Gestalt Therapy’ page.
These days when I am not working, I can be found running, enjoying a great cup of coffee with friends, reading a novel, or tracking down diggers and cranes all over the coast (That last one is never my idea!). I am an erratic but ever hopeful meditator, and perpetual student of life.
